LE PHENIX

Le Phenix (Phoenix) Suite is a spacious studio (35 sq m) housed in what was once the dining room of the judges’ residence dating from 1640. It is equipped with a 160 cm queen bed and a beautiful oval table for meals. There is a lovely Directoire style fireplace framed by early 19th century boiserie (due to fire regulations, blocked and not in use) and a clothes closet built in the thick stone wall that was once (believe it or not!) the judges’ privy. High ceilings, parquet flooring, and handsome antique furniture just add color to the modern comforts – a fully functional kitchenette with fridge, hot plate, sink, and microwave, plus a roomy bathroom with sink, toilet, and shower.

-The phoenix has been an enduring mythological symbol for millennia, consistently characterized as a bird with brightly colored plumage, which, after a long life, dies in a fire of its own making only to rise again from the ashes.

“AA gorgeous stay
We had a wonderful time. The design of the place is amazing, especially if you’re looking for an authentic-like Medieval-French experience, as is the location. Dan and Francesco put their hearts into the apartments, and it shows. They were also extremely gracious hosts and very helpful, from restaurant recommendations to market suggestions. Highly recommended for a lovely Sarlat-la-Canéda stay”

“The venue is charming – it’s like sleeping in a very comfortable and welcoming museum, surrounded by all the artifacts that the owners collected in time. Dan was definitely one of the most welcoming hosts we met.”

“Our stay at Les Suites Sarlandaises exceeded our wildest expectations. This is likely to be the best rating I have ever given a property on Booking.com. The room, the building and the location in the delightful old village of Sarlat was unbelievable. Our hosts – Dan and Francesco – were delightful. Their communication before and during the visit was excellent and we were greeted with a bottle of local red wine, fresh strawberries and a few goodies in the fridge. The room pictures on the web-site look great and the reality is even better. The whole experience was definitely a 10+. Book a stay here and you will not be sorry.”

“Stepping back in time
With the city of Sarlat bustling we felt lucky to tuck into the doors of these beautiful apartments. The attention to detail and care for the house is evident every where. Comfortable and gracious at the same time. Our hosts were ever so helpful and had great inside tips for the area.”

“Excellent stay at Les Suites Sarladaises
We had an amazing 6 night stay at Les Suites Sarladaises. Dan and Francesco were very communicative prior to and during our trip and were so welcoming. When we arrived, they had a bottle of wine, bread and some spreads ready for us. Dan went out of his way and made dinner reservations for us the first night we were there. They also had plenty of sightseeing tips. The inn is so charming with plenty of history and character. Dan and Francesco also have impeccable taste in decor! The room is furnished with antiques that complement the history of the building. Les Suites is in an amazing location right in old town on a quiet street. We loved our stay and highly recommend Les Suites Sarladaises.”

“Gorgeous !
It all begins with the superb medieval building, from the 13th or 15th century, wow !
After climbing the stone stairs, we were led to the Phenix room, gorgeous grand French style (directoire), beautiful deco. The room has a kitchen built-in with table and chairs, everything to prepare breakfast (which the B&B does not provide). Fridge was filled in with bread and yummy local cheese + 1 bottle of wine, nice touch.Dan, the American host, was super friendly and helpful, we were even treated to an “aperitif” in their private apartment on the top floor.
Great experience !”
