La Caladrius Suite is in the ‘comble’ or attic region of the house and is a quaintly beautiful room with a dormer view of the tiled and ancient rooftops of Sarlat – quite romantic! It is on the third floor and has a 140 cm (double) bed, a kitchenette and a separate bathroom with shower. At 26 sq m, the unit is perfect for a single person, or a couple who do not mind climbing the old stone staircase to the top of the house. Fully air-conditioned, it is also the quietest and most cosy of our rooms, with a small table to enjoy tea or coffee, simple meals prepared in your own kitchenette.
-The caladrius is a snow-white bird that lives in kings’ houses, and helps cure illnesses by taking the sickness unto itself and then flying away, healing both itself and its patients at the same time.
“Relaxing and beautiful”
“Wonderfully decorated, with all the amenities a couple could need in a perfect location in town close to parking as well as attached to the best restaurant in town. The hosts were amazing and did the best job to make our stay great. Would stay here again.”
“A medieval paradise
Charming combination of medieval house and modern comfort. Kitchenette well equipped. Clean. Good location in the city with free parking nearby.”
“The location was excellent. We stayed there for 9 days and used this as our permanent base as we travelled the Valley. Our reception had not been matched at any other hotel. A bottle of wine, a loaf of bread with jams, orange juice etc. Both D and F were available to answer any questions.”
“Lovely room, clean and comfortable. Very nicely decorated with immaculate attention to detail. Superb location. Friendly and hospitable hosts.”
“Staying at Les Suites Sarladaises for our honeymoon was so magical. We felt like we were living in a fairytale. When we opened the window and saw the view I literally swooned! The room was so beautiful, clean and had such a homey vibe to it. I felt like I was in a french Jane Austen novel. The owners were so kind and attentive, leaving us a wonderful bottle of wine and delicious treats from the local market. It is in the perfect location right in town so we could go to tons of restaurants, have wine and be able to walk home. I cannot emphasize enough how amazing our stay was and when we go back we are staying there again!!!!”
“Amazing location and rooms, warm welcome and lots of information available to make our stay even better! It was perfect!”
“We spent two nights in this marvelous accommodation in the heart of Medieval Sarlat. Dan was the perfect host, and we hope to return as well as encourage family and friends to stay here. Every space was beautifully furnished and designed…a true luxury experience.”
“If we could give this place six stars we would-amazing! Stunning upstairs apartment in a beautifully restored medieval house in a great location. The pictures don’t do it justice! Daniel met us in town and helped us to find a free car park for the night then took us to our room, carrying one of our bags as he went. Genuinely helpful but respectful of our privacy. The whole experience was top class, would love to stay again. Soon!”
“I will never forget the image of being greeted by Daniel and his black cat under the gas lights of his magical neighborhood. The caladrius bird must have flown into our room because we were cured of our every worry. They should seriously teach a hospitality class. I was speechless for once as I looked out the window onto the roofs of Sarlat. They have such an amazing eye. The bed and pillows were so comfortable and I could tell that they paid attention to the littlest of details. I took a shower and walked out saying “That shower was incredible”! They left us food, wine, and coffee that we ate on antique plates! The building and the decor are incredible but we wouldn’t have been nearly as happy here had they not been so kind and so unexpectedly helpful. ”
