LA LICORNE
La Licorne (Unicorn) Suite, at 85 sq m, has a very large bedroom equipped with a 160 cm queen bed, a separate and equally roomy salon, fully equipped kitchen, and a luxurious bath with bidet, bathtub and shower. The kitchen seems part of the salon due to an antique iron grill over the sink that permits whoever is cooking to engage with anyone in the other room. There are two handsome fireplaces, a marble mantel in Louis XV style in the living room, and a wooden one carved with Renaissance designs in the bedroom. (Due to fire regulations, however, these are both blocked and not in use.) Large windows with antique glass panes overlook the Jardin des Morts, the tiny cobbled street, and the spire of the cathedral. This apartment exudes timeless French elegance.
– The unicorn is a legendary animal commonly shown as a symbol of purity and grace that was only able to be captured by a virgin, with its horn said to have the power to heal sickness.

We were looking forward to our stay in La Licorne after viewing the stunning photos on the website and we were certainly not disappointed! Dan was kind enough to pick us up from the train station, and told us about the history of Sarlat on the way. We were shown to the beautifully presented suite which was equipped with everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. A bottle of red wine, fresh baguette and jam were a lovely touch, and it seemed nothing was too much trouble. We were also very grateful for a lift back to the station upon checkout. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. Thanks so much Dan and Francesco.”

This has to be the most gorgeous place I’ve ever stayed in. It had fabulous antiques and even though you felt you were taken back in time it was still modern in everything. Just can’t say enough nice things about this beautiful place. Like staying in a museum. Dan and Francesco are excellent hosts and take care of your every need! Loved the wine, bread and fixings they had waiting on us from a 24 hour day of travel. Saw Arcadio the famous family cat every day outside. Just felt like family! Highly recommend this gem! I’m very picky as I travel weekly so believe me, for me to take the time to tell you how awesome this beautiful home is in the middle of Sarlat, it’s that perfect!”

He met us in the car park nearby and helped carry our bags, then explained everything about the apartment and where to eat etc. There is extensive information in the apartment about beautiful Sarlat and things to do in the area. The apartment is beautiful. The furniture and furnishings are exquisite. A beautiful, comfortable and large apartment very close to the centre of town but quiet too.”

Les Suites Sarladaises is perfectly located in the old town, with charming views and everything within easy reach. It could not have been more comfortable, and our hosts – Dan and Francesco – more helpful or charming. We were assisted with our luggage and finding free parking nearby, given a welcome gift of supplies for our breakfast(s), and generally assisted in every way. We stayed in Licorne, which is very spacious and comfortable. The photos provided by the property are accurate and helpful in making your choice of rooms. Kitchens fully furnished. What a wonderful stay. I hope to return!”

“I had a great stay in Sarlat at Les Suites Sarladaises. The hosts were brilliant and gave me a lift to and from the station. They had also provided some food and wine for my arrival which was a very nice touch. The flat was spacious, clean and located right in the heart of the medieval town, on a quiet side street. Throughout my stay the hosts checked that everything was okay and provided very helpful advice on where to eat, the history of the town and how to get around. A brilliant stay.”
